Leslie brings over 25 years of experience in social services to Sojourn Center. She has experience in program development, supervision, and oversight of federal grant projects; hospital social work; hospice; behavioral health insurance; partial hospitalization program growth and development; mobile assessment team development and oversight; psychiatric hospital clinical directorship; and home health. Leslie believes that all people deserve the opportunity for growth and wellness. She has one child whom she adores and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Larry McLaughlin
Business Office Director
Larry McLaughlin comes to Sojourn Center with a multitude of talent in business management, financial management, and information systems management. Larry has experience serving in the U.S. Air Force for 15 years as a Communications Analysis Specialist responsible for disseminating highly sensitive material to national level decision makers. Larry returned to college after leaving the military obtaining an Associates Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems Technologies. Larry brings with him a wealth of knowledge as he owned and operated his own global manufacturing business for 12 years.
Larry’s ambition is to help Sojourn Center grow through effective utilization of relevant financial metrics, reliable information systems, and sound business decisions based on these efficiencies. Larry is excited to be in the healthcare arena and looks forward to learning and growing with the outstanding patient centered team and approach here at the Sojourn Center.
Shakil Tukdi, MD
Medical Director at Sojourn Center
Shakil Tukdi, MD, is triple board-certified in general psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, and psychosomatic medicine and offers compassionate care. He considers it a distinct privilege to help improve the lives and minds of patients.
Dr. Tukdi completed medical school at Dow University of Health Sciences and his psychiatry residency at John Peter Smith Hospital. He has had the opportunity to take care of people from all walks of life, offering holistic and personalized therapy that emphasizes lifestyle changes rather than prescription medications. He has worked in public and private sectors, correctional systems, drug rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, and Metrocare Services.
Dr. Tukdi also has extensive experience working in both outpatient and inpatient care in DFW since 2006. He is proud to be a recognized doctor on the Healthgrades Honor Roll. To stay up to date with the latest advances in his field, Dr. Tukdi maintains professional affiliations with the American Board of Psychiatry Certification in Psychiatry and the American Board of Psychosomatic Medicine.
Kayla Storey, LPC-Associate, NCC

Kayla Storey is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and a National Certified Counselor. Her life goal is to help others find ways to live happier, healthier, and more fulfilling lives. She is passionate about bringing joy into the lives of others and will do what she can to help you become the best version of yourself.
Kayla understands that everyone experiences life differently, so she emphasizes the importance of meeting you where you are and working alongside you as a fellow traveler on your mental health journey. She will do her best to help you believe and know that you are not alone, you are worthy, and that you matter.
Kayla’s educational background includes a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Stephen F. Austin State University. Her areas of interest include treating depression, anxiety, self-harm, suicidal ideations, self-esteem, self-worth, and self-love.
